Top draw 3YO MELITO will face off with rival Hot Danish for the third time in two months when they both head up to Brisbane to contest the Doomben 10,000 at the end of May. Hot Danish produced a wonderful sprint to win the All Aged Stakes at Randwick on the weekend, defeating a gallant Melito by a length. The Redoute's Choice filly has proven her class at the highest level this campaign, and is looking to cement herself as one of the country's best sprinters.

The Anthony Cummings trained RECOUP DE FORTUNE has made the field of the time honoured Group 1 Doncaster Handicap. The Randwick trainer has always had a high opinion of the 4 YO gelding, with the big mile race always on the agenda for the son of Fusaichi Pegasus. Reavill Farm recently sold a half sister to Recoup de Fortune for $500,000 to Shadwell Stud.

The Gerald Ryan trained MELITO ran home her last 600m in a stunning 33.65 seconds to overhaul some of Australia's top sprinters to win the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes at Randwick yesterday. The win was extremely satisfying for the Rosehill trainer, justifying his faith that Melito was top class and a definite Group 1 racehorse. Jockey Blake Shinn had the filly travelling beautifully behind Wanted and Mic Mac before asking Melito to sprint after topping the rise, mowing down crowd favourite Hot Danish and win by 3/4 of a length. "Onwards and upwards" was how Gerald Ryan described the filly's future, with her next assignment being the Group 1 All Aged Stakes in a fortnight, before a possible Queensland campaign including the famous Stradbroke Handicap.

The John O'Shea trained ZABRASIVE won the Group 1 Dubai Rosehill Guineas today, showing great fight to beat off the talented Rock Classic. In just his sixth start, the three year old gelding gave his large group of owners a great thrill. Zabrasive is now the favourite for the time honoured AJC Derby. The son of Zabeel is out of Danasia, a full sister to Reavill mare Silk Veil.

Top three year old Redoute's Choice filly MELITO will start her 2010 campaign in the Birthday Card Stakes over 1200m at Rosehill on Saturday. The duel stakes winning filly has won two eye catching trials in the past month, and trainer Gerald Ryan is expecting her to be right in the finish. In form jockey Michael Rodd will be in the saddle.

4YO mare LACADA SIREN produced a brilliant late run to win the Bradcorp Holdings 3YO+ Hcp over 1400m on the Kensington track this afternoon. Jumping from the outside barrier and settling near the tail of the field, Glyn Schofield kicked the daughter of Giant's Causeway into gear at the top of the straight and overpowered the leaders to keep the mare unbeaten for 2010. Trainer Kris Lees will now target the Listed Aspiration Quality Handicap over the Randwick mile in two weeks time.

2YO filly BIG ON BROADWAY made a great start to her race career yesterday, winning the 1200m Maiden Juvenile Plate for fillies at Kenilworth in South Africa. The Fusiachi Pegasus filly is out of Reavill mare La Favorita, who foaled a lovely Testa Rossa filly last year.

Progressive 3YO EASY JOCKEY remains unbeaten in Malaysia, winning the Class 3 1200m sprint by 4 1/2 lengths, which is his average winning margin over his 3 start career. Easy Jockey's three quarter sister LACADA SIREN races at Randwick this Friday, and a half brother by Fastnet Rock will by sold at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in April.

RECOUP DE FORTUNE posted another win at Rosehill today, fighting off the swoopers to remain unbeaten for 2010. Jockey Brenton Avdulla sent the 4 YO gelding to the lead and was never headed over the 1500m journey. The dam of Recoup de fortune is Reavill mare Volte, who has an outstanding Redoute's Choice filly going through the sale ring at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

Canterbury night racing saw another update for the family of Bourgeois in the shape of 3YO colt LEMIEUX, who scored a strong win on debut for trainer Paul Messara. Out of French Cut, a half sister to Golden Slipper winner Stratum, the handsome son of Redoute's Choice looks to have a bright future.

3YO Fastnet Rock colt KIAOLA kicked off his racing career with a nice win over 1000m at Ballarat today. Prepared by top trainer Mark Kavanagh, the son of Reavill mare Prickly Problem raced very greenly but showed a good turn of foot in the straight to overhaul the front runners.

4YO gelding MAZUKA started his 2010 racing program with aplomb today, flying home late to win the 1000m sprint at Eagle Farm. Turned out in fine order by Gerald Ryan's Queensland lieutenant Matt Dunn, Mazuka was ridden patiently by top hoop Glen Colless who weaved a clear path in the straight to mow down the leaders in the last 50m. Mazuka's dam is Reavill mare Princess Polonia who is in foal to Vinery Stud sire Testa Rossa.

Reavill mare PASSING HOPE achieved a rare feat for any broodmare when EASY JOCKEY was victorious over 1200m at the Selangor Turf Club in Malaysia on Saturday. By Footstepsinthesand, EASY JOCKEY is a three quarter brother to LACADA SIREN who won at Newcastle on the same day. In only its second race start, the 3YO gelding won as it liked by over 3 lengths to remain unbeaten. Passing Hope has a cracking yearling colt by hot sire Fastnet Rock that will go through the Inglis sale ring at Easter this year, and is in foal to Champion 2YO sire More than Ready.

Reavill racemare LACADA SIREN returned to the track a winner today, producing a stunning last to first victory over an unsuitable 1200m journey. The Giant's Causeway 4YO last started in the Queensland Oaks in May, finishing 4th to the classy PURPLE. Trainer Kris Lees would be delighted with such a strong sprint win. Better races await for Lacada over the Autumn months.

2YO filly PSYCHOLOGIST impressed all and sundry with an absolutely dominant win in the Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield today. Jumping quickly and setting a good pace up front, the Tony Vasil trained galloper produced a kick in the straight to win by 4 lengths in quick time. PSYCHOLOGIST is by Choisir out of Danzero mare Miss Conception, herself a daughter of Reavill mare Prefer an Angel, who produced an outstanding colt by Holy Roman Emperor this season, and returned to the same stallion.

RECOUP DE FORTUNE has kicked off his 2010 campaign in good fashion, winning the 1200m www.theraces.com.au Handicap at Canterbury with a solid performance. Jockey Brenton Avdulla piloted the 4 YO gelding to sit outside the leader before wearing it down in the straight. The half brother and stable mate to Rosehill Guineas winner DEALER PRINCIPAL will now progess on to better races over the next couple of months.

The 2005 Golden Slipper winner had a stellar day as a sire yesterday, with Crystal Lily giving him the honour of being the first freshman stallion to sire a stakeswinner in the 2009/10 season. Three year old filly DYSTOPIA started off her 2010 campaign with an excellent 3rd in the Kevin Hayes Stakes yesterday. The full sister to STRATUM acquited herself brilliantly at her first run in Melbourne, sitting outside the leader and ultimate winner Set for Fame, who looks another star of the future for in form trainer Peter Moody. DYSTOPIA is trained by Chris Waller and owned by the Ingham family.

Reavill Farm mares have contributed five racehorses in the first declarations for the 2010 Doncaster Mile. Dealer Principal, Melito, Pillar of Hercules, Recoup de Fortune and All Silent have all been nominated by their respective trainers for a possible tilt at Randwick's great mile race.

Another successful yearling sale for Reavill Farm has come to an end, with the farm's product being much sought after by a wide buying bench. Reavill finished as third leading vendor by average (three or more sold), with 11 lots selling for $2,315,000 at an average of $210,454, well above the overall sale average of $129,399. Highlights for the draft were selling the highest priced More than Ready colt for $320,000 to South African trainer Charles Laird, and the Redoute's Choice x Piper Star filly selling to Belmont Bloodstock Agency for $520,000.

High class 5YO gelding DEALER PRINCIPAL (Flying Spur x Volte) made a stellar return to racing on Saturday, giving his rivals a galloping lesson in winning over 1300m at Randwick. Jockey Rod Quinn cruised up to the leaders on the home turn and let his mount accelerate away to score by an easy 2 1/2 lengths. Dealer Principal's yearling half sister by Redoute's Choice will be sold at the 2010 Inglis Easter Sale.

EASY JOCKEY (Footstepsinthesand x Passing Hope) blitzed his rivals by 5 1/2 lengths in Malaysia last Friday, whilst CHEOGO BEOLTONG (Choisir x Silken Song) managed a mere 4 length victory in Korea. Both three year olds look exciting prospects for the future.
